Accessing The Internet Business Box Multivariate Testing Software

Internet Business Box

The Internet Business Box is testing 553 individual variables with an average of 5.3 different versions for each individual page of your web-site.

This is more than a human being can even keep track of reasonably, but the Internet Business Box automatically places the variables under test and automatically declares winners and losers.

You never need to worry about it one bit. Most Internet Business Box users never even access the multi-variate software.

In fact, I strongly considered not even documenting it. It will be a distraction to most users, but there are some copywriting power users who might benefit from being able to add versions to the test or personally seeing early test results.

And frankly, I suspect some people won't even believe the system really is under multivariate test. So this chapter is to document how to access the multivariate software so you can see for yourself how hard the Internet Business Box is working to improve your income 100% automatically in the background.

To access the multivariate software, go to this URL:

http://yoursite.com/ibb/ibb-frm-stats.php

Replace the "yoursite.com" with your own domain.

It will probably redirect you to a login page if this is the first time you have access the multivariate software that is included with your Internet Business Box system.

The user id is "admin" (without the quotes).

The password is the same as your web-site FTP password.

After logging in, it will return you to the ibb-frm-stats.php page.

In the upper left corner, you will see a drop-down box. It contains the blog slugs for each of your blog posts. Choose a page and you will see the list of 500+ variables that are under test for that page. You are looking at the template for the page. The template itself is also under test.

Choose a variable and click on it. You will now see all of the versions of that variable that are under test along with the number of views, clicks, subscribes, orders, sales, sale amount, time under test and estimated dollars per day.

The numbers may look completely wrong at first. This is due to two things that actually do make them wrong.

First of all, if the number of views is less than 300, then you are seeing incredibly high action numbers across the board. This is done on purpose. It is to give each version of the variable under test a "free" 300 views in order to prove itself and get reliable click, subscribe and order data.

Even if there are more than 300 views, you may see some data that seems wrong. You may see fractional actions. You could see a variable version that has 2.13 subscribes. How is that possible?

When no data is availabel for an action (because that action hasn't yet taken place for that variable version), then an estimate is calculated based on the actions that take place more often. You can see the divisors used on your Website Statistics page. Those divisors are calculated based on your overall average for your entire site. When you first install your Internet Business Box system, averages for ALL sites running the Internet Business Box are used until you have data for your site available.

So if a variable version has 25 clicks and your overall site average is 50 clicks per subscribe, then you would see 0.50 subscribes estimated for that variable version. Once a subscribe happens, that 0.50 or 1.21 or whatever is estimated at the time of the actual subscribe is replaced with 1.0. So any data that you see that are even integers is probably real actual actions recorded for that variable version (a 99% chance anyway). But anything that has fractional digits is estimated data.

The HTML code for each variable version is shown right along with the view and action data. You can also scroll down to the bottom of the page and there is an entry box for you to enter html code to add a new version to test. It will be pre-filled with the HTML code for the current winner, so if you aren't very comfortable with HTML code, that's OK. You can just find the word or the color code you want to change and just change that one item and leave the rest of the HTML code alone. That way you don't really need to know HTML to add new variable versions. You just need to know what the current winner says and what you want it to say for the new test.

Each version number is a hyperlink. If you want to force the statistics to be run for that variable version so you have the most up-to-date numbers, you can click the link. It will take about 30 seconds to a minute to update the stats in a new window. Then you can click refresh for the stats window and see the very latest numbers.

Statistics are run for a random variable version as one of the tasks that are run every time a visitor comes to your site. There is no way all statistics can be run at once. It would take hours and hours and your web host would shut you down for causing too high of a load on the servers. So the Internet Business Box splits up all of the tasks it needs to perform to update your site and does them in tiny little chunks every time a visitor comes to your web-site.

I strongly recommend that you not get distracted by the multivariate testing module. It runs completely automatically. Every time you add a blog post, it will be tested against nothingness. A lot of fonts, colors, layouts and graphics are being testing constantly. Every link in your site directory and blogroll is being tested. Your logo is being tested.

As I said, there are an average of 553 individual variables under test on every single page of your web-site and it all happens completely automatically. You don't need to ever access this module for it to work.

Successful entrepreneurs know what they have to do (write high quality original content, some of which can become part of products) and what others or a computer can do. A computer can do this task so the smart entrepreneur doesn't get distracted by this task.
