How to Install the Internet Business Box

Internet Business Box

Your domain should be registered and hosted before you start. We recommend the following domain registrars:

DomainGuru.net

Dotster.com

We do NOT recommend these domain registrars:

GoDaddy.com

NameCheap.com

There is nothing about the Internet Business Box that requires any particular registrar, but domains registered with those registrars earn far less money on average than domains registered with the recommended registrars.

You should also host your domain before you start. Your web-host should support PHP version 5.2 or higher and be run on Unix or Linux and not Windows.

Ideally it should use Cpanel, Ensim or Plesk for it's control panel. This isn't necessarily a requirement, but the Internet Business Box is known to work on Linus hosting using any of those three control panels.

Web hosts known to work include:

TraverseGlobal.com

HostGator.com

Kualo.net

Bluewho.com

However, we can only recommend:

TraverseGlobal.com

Kualo.net

We do not recommend:

HostGator.com

Bluewho.com

That isn't because the Internet Business Box doesn't work with these two hosts. It is because Internet Business Box sites hosted with these two hosts earn less income on average than the two recommended hosts.

We don't know why some registrars and some hosts earn more money.

Perhaps it is a reputation issue and the search engines use the name servers to determine reputation of the web host and registrar for ranking purposes.

Perhaps it is a down-time problem with the web-hosts. We just don't know.

But we do know the average earnings of Internet Business Box sites and we can cross tabulate that with their registrar and web host. So choose a recommend registrar and web host or try a new one. Avoid the ones on the "not recommended" list for maximum profits.

You will start by going to our automatic installer. If you are reading this after we have released version 3.1, then the installer can be found here:

http://InternetBusinessBox.com/blog/install

If you are reading this earlier than our version 3.1 release, then the automatic install installer is here:

http://InternetBusinessBox.com/blog/ibb30automaticinstallation

In either case, you will be presented with an easy to fill out form that allows you to tell us about your domain, Google Adsense account, PayPal account and Clickbank account. After that, we will install your software. The average amount of time to fill out this form and install your first site is 48 seconds after you have read and understood the following directions.

Let's go through it question by question so you understand all of your options.

Domain

This is your domain name. While a URL has an http:// and possibly a www at the beginning, a domain does not. A domain has only one period. Here is an example of some domains:

AllAboutDiabetes.info

Hermusa.com

SwapDiet.com

InternetBusinessBox.com

The following are NOT domains and should not be entered into this space:

www.AllAboutDiabetes.info

http://www.SwapDiet.com

www.SwapDiet.com

There should be a single period and you should omit the http:// and the www if you use them in your URL.

We suggest that you capitalize the first word of each word in the main part of your domain. There are places where it is presented to your prospects and readers such as in email messages. Capitalizing the first letter of each word makes your domain easier to read and has won in test after test.

In any case where the all lowercase version of your domain is required, the Internet Business Box will automatically convert your domain into it's all lowercase version before presenting it to the system that requires a lowercase domain.

The Internet Business Box may also be installed on subdomains IF and only IF they are truly hosted on their own. The Internet Business Box does not support add on domains or domains that are hosted as folders of another domain. But if you individually host diet.theinfosite.com as it's own hosting account, then you can install the Internet Business Box on such a sub-domain.

FTP User Name

This was provided by your web-host. It is the user name to enter into an FTP client. We will be acting as an FTP client to install your software.

If your web host uses Cpanel or Plesk, this will usually be a single word like:

admin

michael

mysite

If your web host uses Ensim, this will usually be a word followed by the @ symbol and then your domain name. It will look like an email address. Here are some examples:

admin@mysite.com

michael@mysite.com

mysite@mysite.com

Often you can create users yourself in your control panel and give them FTP access. Do not use one of these user accounts. It won't work. Use the main FTP user ID that your web host provided when you hosted your site.

FTP Password

This is the FTP password your web host provided you when you hosted your account. It is case sensitive. Make sure you don't accidentally add a space before or after your password.

FTP Home Folder

This is the folder that you would change to in order to upload your hosting files. It was also provided to you by your web host when you hosted your site.

If your site is hosted with a web host that uses Cpanel (the most common), then you would enter the following:

public_html

That is an underscore, not a dash. It must be all lowercase.

If your site is hosted with an Ensim host, then you would enter:

mainwebsite_html

If your site is hosted with a Plesk host, then you would enter:

httpdocs

The Internet Business Box has not been tested outside those three environments. It may work as long as you enter the folder that an FTP client needs to change to before uploading files that should be hosted.

Site Name

This is the name of your site. We recommend that you simply turn your domain into it's readable words.

For instance, if your domain is:

fxskateboards.com

Then enter the following:

FX Skateboards

or:

fx Skateboards

or:

Fx Skateboards

This information will be used to create your logo and is also used in the text of several sales pages and may be used in emails sent on your behalf by the Internet Business Box.

Use proper capitalization. Don't just enter your site name in all lower case. It will impact your profits if you do.

Site Email

This should be an email address on your domain. All of the emails that are sent on your behalf will use this as the from email.

In this field, we enter all lower case. An example would be:

michael@mysite.com

Site Topic

This is a single capitalized word that represents the topic of your site. Everyone has a problem with boiling the subject of their site down to a single word.

So what? Do it anyway.

No matter how hard you try, there is only one example of a viable online business market that can't be expressed by a single word. That one exception is:

Real Estate

Neither the word real, nor the word estate capture the concept in any way. They are meaningless or have a different meaning when used separately. If your site is about real estate, then enter:

Realestate

Another example that people bring up is weight loss. The word weightloss is also proper in English. Use that instead.

In all other cases, you will end up with a noun and an adjective other supporting word when you boil your topic down to two words (which people have a lot easier time with doing). Just drop the supporting word.

Internet Business becomes Business.

Online Marketing becomes Marketing.

Horse Training becomes Horse.

Computer Repair becomes Computer.

Just summarize the topic of your site as much as you can. Then pick the most important word in whatever you come up with.

Capitalize this word!

Site Google Ad Slot:

Create a new tracking ad slot for each site in your Google Adsense account and enter the number Google gives you here. You can leave this blank or leave the default value if you have no interest in Google Adsense earnings.

We haven't found a site yet that is more profitable with Google Adsense than without Google Adsense, so the multivariate software will start out without Google Adsense and only try it at a later time. It will probably lose the split test and be eliminated permanently after that test.

Minimum Price

The Internet Business Box will create a sales page offering your site for sale. It will calculate a fair price based on your traffic and daily earnings and it will update this price on a regular basis.

We recommend leaving the default price alone for most sites, but you may have some special value for something on your site that the Internet Business Box can't value. If this is the case, then enter your minimum sales price for your entire site in whole dollars in this spot. Don't use commas or enter any cents. Just use a number of whole dollars.

Corp Domain

If you are running the Internet Business Box on more than one site, you should designate one of the sites as your corporate site. Some future features will be available only on your main corporate site.

If this is the only domain running the Internet Business Box owned by you, then just enter the domain of the site itself again.

Corp Name

This is the proper name of your company. Do not enter any commas though!

If your company is called Marketing Blaster, Inc., then just enter Marketing Blaster Inc in this spot.

This will be used for any copyright notices or any other place where the software needs to reference the name of your company.

Use proper capitalization. Your profits will suffer if you don't show enough respect for your own company name to enter it in proper mixed case.

Corp Person

This is the name of a contact person at your company. Use proper capitalization. Don't use commas even if they are a junior or have some other notation to go after their name. Just skip the comma.

Corp Address

This is the postal mailing address for your company. CAN-SPAM requires this to be placed at the end of emails sent out by your company in some circumstances. We use this address for that purpose.

Corp PayPal

This is your company's premium or business PayPal account. Just enter the email address you use for your PayPal account. It should be entered in all lower case.

This is very important. Most Internet Business Box earnings come via your PayPal account. Don't skip this field!

Corp Clickbank ID

This is your Clickbank affiliate account. It is the first field you enter when you login to your Clickbank account. It is NOT your password. We don't need your password for anything.

Enter this in all lower case even though Clickbank often provides it to you in all uppercase.

This is used to build Clickbank links for your site directory and blog roll.

Clickbank earnings have been minimal on most sites. Don't worry about creating a Clickbank account if you don't already have one. You can leave the default value if you wish.

Google Ad Client

This is your publisher ID provided from your Google Adsense account. It starts with pub- and then is a long number.

Adsense earnings have been minimal. If you don't already have an Adsense account, I would skip this step and leave the default value or leave this field blank.

IBB Version:

This is a drop-down box for you to select the version.

In most cases, you will want to select the highest numbered version that doesn't have the word beta in it.

All software has bugs. That's just a fact. Our most tested software is released with a final version number that doesn't have the word beta in it.

Interim releases have the word beta in them followed by the month and the day of the beta release.

If you are brave and you don't mind dealing with a few more bugs than a final release will have, then you will get the very latest features by installing the latest beta version.

If you do that, be sure to report any problems you have in the comments area of the automatic installer you used. Be sure to mention which beta version you were using when you encountered the problem.

That's it. Click the install button and a new window will pop up. In that window will be an error message telling you that you entered your domain, ftp user id, ftp password or something else incorrectly... or a message that your site is being set up and instructing you to refresh the page.

If you get an error, close the window and you will still have the filled out form open. Just fix the error and try again.

If you get the message that your site is being set up. Hit the refresh button and you will see your site.

A lot of areas will be blank. Your site is automatically built and automatically updated in little chunks every time someone visits your site (including you). It may take a week or more before everything is filled out and if your site is low traffic, it may only update once every few weeks.

Your own visits count, so you can always speed up this process by visiting your own site.

Don't worry if the site price is blank or the menus are blank or your blog roll is empty. All these things and most other things about your site are automatically updated for you at the right time.

Your duty is to post quality content in the form of blog posts.

First, you have to tell your new site that you are the owner. Do this by going to the bottom of the page and finding the subscribe box.

Enter a secret email address here. Don't enter your PayPal email address or your site email address. Enter a different email address here. This is treated like a password.

Your site assumes that the first person to subscribe is the owner of the site. You will now have access to the Post blog post.

Find it in the list of blog entries in the right column and click on it.

You will now have a form where you can enter your first blog post. Do it!

This is your main task. Those who enter at least one quality post per day are earning $402 per month by the end of their first month. Those who don't are earning $8.66 per month at the end of their first month. Posting quality content is very important.

There are instructions on your post page for making something access restricted. Once a week or so, we recommend entering the following in the author name field for your very best blog post that week:

Access:1003

There is no space between the : and the 1. The A is capitalized and the rest of the word Access is lower case.

That will make that post only available to those who join your membership program for $10 per month.

This is one of the most important revenue streams for your Internet Business Box.

Don't worry. You can also run ANY kind of Internet business from your Internet Business Box powered site. We'll show you how. But this revenue stream can be added to your other revenue streams. I highly recommend doing this.

How often should you post?

At least once a day if you want to earn an average of $402 at the end of your first month.

The optimum frequency for posting is 2.4 times per day. We arrived at that number through testing.

Obviously you can't post 0.4 of a blog post. But you can post two blog posts on even numbered days and three blog posts on odd numbered days. That will average out to about 2.5 blog posts per day. Eventually you'll miss a day and your average will drop to 2.4.

It doesn't have to be exact, but that is the number to shoot for in order to get the maximum profit out of the system no matter what you are actually selling for your main product or service.

That's it.

I strongly urge you to stop reading this manual right now and focus on posting and only posting for a few days. That is the only thing you really HAVE to do to make the Internet Business Box software work.

Everything in this manual after this chapter is optional and for those who want to get in and tinker or customize.

Many people have lost their way because they didn't take our advice and stop right here and focus on posting quality blog entries for a few days. They get involved in endless distractions and never get their Internet Business Box powered web-site off the ground.

Don't be one of those casualties. Focus is incredibly important to your success in business. Take a few days to focus on the most important thing with any Internet Business Box powered web-site.... posting high quality blog entries frequently.

STOP HERE AND PUT THIS MANUAL AWAY FOR A FEW DAYS AND FOCUS ON POSTING QUALITY CONTENT TO YOUR BLOG
