Selling Downloadable Products With The Internet Business Box Commonly beginning online business entrepreneurs will start out selling downloadable information products. The most common is the ebook. Online audio and video training courses are also common. The reason for this business model is obvious. It has a nearly 100% profit margin. There is no risk of overstocking or the cash flow issues that can come with warehousing, fulfillment, shipping, returns, etc. The Internet Business Box makes this process trivial. In fact, there is an example already built in with the Platinum Membership club. The easiest way to see a downloadable product is to just post your content normally, but put Access:1003 in the box where the author name goes. That will make the blog post protected so that only paid members of your Platinum Membership program can access the material. But maybe you want to sell an Ebook, audio or video download for a one time price of $20 or $50 or even $100. That is almost as easy. It just takes two posts. The 2nd post is necessary to create the product. You don't need to do that with the Platimum Membership club because that product already exists. So let's look at how to create a product. First, you will need to choose a number. Don't use numbers between 1000 and 1999. Those are reserved for the standard products that come with every Internet Business Box powered business. So, let's say we want to create a product for a Widget Ebook and give it product number 5001. We just go to the post entry here: Change the yoursite.com to your own domain. The instructions are on the page. In the author field, you won't put your name. Instead, you will enter: Order:5001On the blog title line, you will put: Widget EbookThat is the name of the product. Now the blog post will be your sales page for the product. List the benefits of purchasing and the price. End with a PayPal link. The PayPal link should "return" to the 2nd blog post we'll talk about. We are going to call it Widget Ebook Download so we'll put the following for the "return" hidden field in the PayPal button: yoursite.com/blog/widgetebookdownload We will set the "rm" hidden field to "2" and post our blog post. You can use any of the existing products for examples of the PayPal code. That creates the sales page. Now we need to create the delivery page. It is just as easy. Just enter the following in the author field: Access:5001That will keep anyone other than paid customers of product 5001 from accessing the page. Put your instructions to download the ebook, audio or video product on this page. Use the following for the title: Widget Ebook DeliveryThat way it will end up being the following URL: yoursite.com/blog/widgetebookdelivery Which is what you put as the return URL when you created the sales page blog post. You can sell any downloadable product this way. It takes two posts... an order page post, and an access page post. The Internet Business Box will automatically redirect anyone trying to access the Access:5001 page to the order page for that product. It will also automatically list the product in your order drop-down menu so your readers can easily find it. Do you want to make something only available to subscribers (people who have entered their email address?) That is even easier. There is an example in the article-adswapcopy.txt default post and also in teh article-ouradswapcopy.txt default post. Just copy the Javascript from either of those posts and include it at the top of your "subscribers only" post. That Javascript will redirect them wherever you indicate if they haven't yet subscribed. It is really easy to sell downloadable products and have them automatically delivered using the Internet Business Box. This is just one of the many revenue streams available with the Internet Business box. All it takes is a couple of blog posts (or just one blog post if you want to piggyback on the default Platinum Membership program that comes with the Internet Business Box system). |
