Something For Nothing
Internet Business Box
We talk a lot about how to receive by giving first here. It is a very effective technique. If you want to get links to your site, link to other sites. Some percentage will link back.
If you want a chance to post a guest blog post on someone else's blog, then invite them to guest post on your blog. If you want to get in a site's blog roll, then add that site to your own blog roll.
The law of reciprocity will work wonders and is one of the fastest ways of growing an online business. We have done it with dozens and it has never failed to work.
But not everyone follows the law of reciprocity. That's OK. Link to 20 web-sites and probably only one or two will link back. That's OK. Take down the other 18 links later unless you think they are helpful enough to your readers to leave them.
There are also actual agreements you can make that don't rely on the law of reciprocity. They just rely on the honesty of the other party. You can offer a link exchange for instance. You make an agreement to put a link on your site if the other party puts a link on their site. That way you don't have to deal with 90% or more not reciprocating; right? It's an agreement. Surely people will keep their agreements; right?
The fact is that many will not. They are looking for "something for nothing" and lie, cheat and steal their way to failure. It never works. Look at the top 1,000 sites on the Internet by whatever measurement you like. Do you see liars, cheaters and thieves in the mix?
No. Keeping your word is very important if you want to attain success. The liars, cheaters and thieves may rip off a few people here or there, but their reputation suffers as a result. In the end, without a reputation, they simply can't succeed because nobody will trust their word.
We have talked about ad swaps before as being one of the best methods of building a prospect list with exponential growth rates. That's absolutely true. It is also true that this method has a huge list of scam artists. We get taken about half of the time. The other party simply doesn't keep their word and doesn't send our offer out to their list.
That's the way it works though. About 50% of the time, you will be ripped off by your ad swap partner.
We have a way to limit that number dramatically though. We keep track of the scammers and share that list with anyone who has done two successful ad swaps with us. We used to share it with all of our ad swap partners, but we found that a very prominent Internet marketing type was teaching people to get free traffic by ripping off ad swappers. He teaches to do one legitimate ad swap with a new ad swap partner to get their trust. And then rip them off with the 2nd ad swap.
Since this guy is actually teaching this method (you would recognize his name, but he is only teaching this to his private coaching clients), it isn't safe to recommend someone for ad swaps after only one successful swap. We do keep lists of all of our active ad swap partners who have completed two or more swaps with us or our partners though. We also keep a list of all of the scammers out there by IP, name (often a fake name), email address, web-site promoted and whois information of the web-site promoted.
If you use our list, your ad swap scam rate will drop from about 50% to less than 5% on average. That is our current ad swap fraud rate.
Want your own copy of the list of ad swap scammers who have ripped us off so you can avoid doing ad swaps with them?
No problem. We don't even charge for the list. Just do two successful ad swaps with us and we'll happily share the list with you... and happily add the names of those who have ripped you off to the list to share with our other partners.
You can set up an ad swap with us here:
Ad Swap Request
Our system automatically sends as many times as it takes to match whatever our ad swap partner delivered. If you want to use the same system we use, you can get it here:
Internet Business Box
If you are on our "no swap" list and can't set up ad swaps with anyone anymore because of your prior broken agreement... then just keep your agreement and send your side of the ad swap.
Our offer came with a tracking code so we'll know when you have finally kept your side of our agreement. The same goes for any partner using the Internet Business Box software.
There is no such thing as a free lunch. When you steal someone else's lunch, you pay with your new reputation as being a lunch thief.
