Getting A Link From Us There are quite a few ways to get a link from us in our blog roll or in our recommended sites directory. Let's start with the blog roll since that is the most difficult... although it really isn't difficult at all. The blog roll is only for sites about "business" since that is the topic of this site. We use a very simple check to see if a site should be included in our blog roll. We check the title tag on the home page of the site in question for the word "business." The word "business" doesn't need to be at the beginning or the end of the title tag. It can be in all uppercase or all lowercase or any other combination of capitalization, but if the site is realy about business... we can be relatively certain that the word "business" will be in the title tag on the home page of that site. So that is how you get in our blog roll vs getting a link on one or more of our directory pages. Let's talk about how you get a link from us at all. There are several ways. 1. You can buy a listing in our directory here: That program is a great way to get a one way link from us that doesn't depend on your ongoing action or a return link in any way. There are also several ways to get a link from us for free. 2. You can link to us. We don't go searching for links to us, but we do automatically capture referrer information on all traffic to us. If you send us even one visitor every week with the referrer not blocked (some browser and software block this information), then we'll automatically link to you. If you title tag has the word "business" in it, your link will be from our blog roll. 3. You can participate by commenting on blog entries and including your link. This is a double edged sword though. Your comments are evalated by our multivariate software. If you leave more comments that hurt our profitability than you leave comments that helps our profitability then you won't be getting a link from us. In fact, your comments will be automatically deleted by the multivariate testing software and you will be banned from future comments. But if you leave helpful comments that are positive about our products or complimentary about our blog posts or in any other way help our business make more money, then you will not only get a do follow link from the comment itself... but you will also get a free one-way link from us in our site directory. Once again, if you site has the word "business" in the title tag, your link will be in our blog roll. 4. You can just ask. On all of our directory pages, there is a form to fill out asking for a link in that directory. Once you fill it out, you have a free link from us for one week if you haven't been banned by leaving too many negative comments... or linking to inappropriate material. No person evaluates your link. Instead, our multivariate software does an automatic A/B test with the A version being your link and the B version being nothing at all. If your link is to an inappropriate site, the multivariate software will notice and remove it. Enough times doing that and you will be banned from adding links or leaving comments. But if you have a relevant site, you can get a free link from us for one week just by asking for it using the form in our site directory. You can come back every week if you wish and renew your request. It is all very simple. You scratch our back and we'll scratch yours. If you send us traffic, we'll send you traffic. If you say nice things about us, we'll send you traffic in appreciation. If you whine and cry and constantly post negative things about us, then we'll block you from future commenting or requesting links. We are in business to make money. Customers and partners who want to help us make money will be rewarded... often with a link or extra traffic to them. Maybe they will even be invited to make a guest blog post or we'll feature them in a blog post we make. Readers who whine and post negative things all the time will eventually be shown the door and it will be locked behind them. The beauty of our system is that it is all automatic.
